wellbeing

UK/wɛlˈbiː.ɪŋ/US/wɛlˈbiː.ɪŋ/
nounB2+Rare in speech; mostly a word you read · #12,966 of 15,258leans written

Wellbeing is the state of being healthy, settled and content. Health and wellbeing, a sense of wellbeing, wellbeing at work.

It covers more than the absence of illness, which is why policy has moved towards it: wellbeing takes in security, purpose and relationships as well as health. Britain writes it as one word or two, and both are accepted.
