Other forms: chiles

Chile is the impossibly long thin country along South America's Pacific coast. Travel to Chile, northern Chile, the coast of Chile.

It runs over four thousand kilometres from top to bottom and averages under two hundred wide, which gives it deserts, glaciers and everything between. The Atacama in the north is the driest place on earth, and its skies make it the best ground for telescopes.
