Compromised means no longer secret, and therefore no longer safe. A compromised agent, compromised credentials, the network was compromised.
In security it is the standard word for a system, password or identity that an adversary has got hold of, and the response is to assume everything it touched is exposed. Of a person it means their position is undermined by something they did or that is known about them. In medicine, immunocompromised means the immune system is weakened. Note compromise, which as a noun is a settlement and carries none of this.
