consensual

UK/kənˈsɛnʃuəl/US/kənˈsɛnʃuəl/
adjectiveC1Occasional — familiar, but not everyday · #9,421 of 15,258neutral

Consensual means agreed to willingly by everybody involved. Consensual sex, a consensual agreement, fully consensual.

The willingness has to be real rather than assumed, which is why the word does so much work in law: consent given under pressure or without capacity is no consent at all. In politics it means governing by agreement rather than by imposition.
