Other forms: destinations

A destination is the place you are trying to get to. Final destination, a holiday destination, reach your destination.

In travel marketing a destination is a place worth going for its own sake, which is why destination wedding and destination restaurant both mean somewhere you travel to on purpose. Note destiny, from the same Latin root meaning to make firm — a destination is where you are settled on going.
