Other forms: facilities
A facility is a building or service provided for a purpose. A sports facility, medical facility, storage facility.
It is corporate and slightly bloodless, which is why facility so often replaces a plainer word — a facility is a building nobody wants to name. The older sense is ease or aptitude: a facility for languages, meaning it comes easily. Note that the Latin facilis means easy.
1nounfacilityA building or service provided for a purpose.
“The new sports facility has a pool and a gym.”
2nounnaturalA natural ease at something.
“She has a remarkable facility for learning languages.”

facility is a building, or an aptitude.
Latin facilitas comes from facilis, easy, from facere, to do. Faculty and facile come from the same ease.
