nounB1+Occasional — familiar, but not everyday · #11,565 of 15,258leans written

Flamenco is a Spanish art of song, guitar and stamping dance. Dance flamenco, flamenco guitar, a flamenco night.

The singing came first and is the heart of it; the dance and the guitar grew around the voice. It belongs to Andalusia and to the Roma communities there, and the rhythms are counted in cycles of twelve that fall in unfamiliar places.
