Other forms: grams
A gram is a very small unit of weight. Ninety grams, a few grams, grams per litre.
It is roughly the weight of a paperclip, and a millilitre of water weighs one. Oddly, the kilogram rather than the gram is the base unit of the metric system, which is the only base unit with a prefix built into its name. The Greek gramma meant a small weight.
