gullet

UK/ˈɡʌl.ɪt/US/ˈɡʌl.ɪt/
nounC1Occasional — familiar, but not everyday · #10,757 of 15,258leans spoken

The gullet is the tube food passes down to the stomach. Stick in the gullet, down the gullet, a blocked gullet.

The medical word is the oesophagus, and gullet is the plain one. Food goes down by muscles squeezing in a wave rather than by gravity, which is why you can swallow lying down. Stick in your gullet means something you cannot accept.
