Other forms: manicured, manicures
A manicure is a treatment that shapes and paints the fingernails. Have a manicure, book a manicure, a French manicure.
It covers filing, cuticle work, buffing and polish. A pedicure is the same for the feet. A French manicure has a pale nail with a white tip. Gel and acrylic are the longer-lasting treatments. As a verb, manicured also describes anything trimmed to unnatural neatness: a manicured lawn, manicured hedges — which is usually said with a hint of criticism.
