plasterer

nounB2+Rare in speech; mostly a word you read · #13,742 of 15,258neutral

Other forms: plasterers

A plasterer is the worker who spreads smooth finish on walls. Call a plasterer, a skilled plasterer, the plasterer skimmed it.

The skill is entirely in timing, since plaster has to be worked at several stages as it sets and a wall left too long cannot be saved. A good plasterer leaves a surface needing no sanding at all.
