Presentable means tidy enough to be seen in public. Make yourself presentable, a presentable state, barely presentable.
It sets a low bar deliberately: presentable is not smart, it is merely not embarrassing. It applies to people, rooms and work — get the room presentable before they arrive. Make yourself presentable is what a parent says before visitors. Note that presentable also carries a faint social judgement about what counts as acceptable, which is most of why the word feels dated.
