presentation

UK/ˌpɹɛzn̩ˈteɪʃn̩/US/ˌpɹɛzn̩ˈteɪʃn̩/
nounB1+Common in everyday speech and writing · #3,005 of 15,258leans written

Other forms: presentations

A presentation is standing in front of the class and explaining your topic with slides. Give a presentation, presentation skills, a slide presentation.

The commonest fault is putting everything on the slides and then reading them, which makes both the speaker and the slides redundant — the slides are for what cannot be said. In medicine, presentation is how a condition first appears. Note present, from the Latin for being before somebody.
