Other forms: rectangles
A rectangle is a flat shape with four right angles and opposite sides equal. Draw a rectangle, a golden rectangle, a rectangle of light.
Its area is length times width, which is the first area formula anybody learns and the one every other one is built from. A square is a rectangle with all four sides equal, so every square is a rectangle and not the reverse — a point that catches out a great many people. Note rectangular; and that the Latin means right angle.
