A repertory is a company that keeps a set of plays ready to perform. A repertory company, in repertory, the local repertory theatre.

The system rotates several productions rather than running one until it closes, which is why actors trained in repertory could play anything. British regional theatre was built on it, and it is where most well-known actors began.
