superhuman

adjectiveB2Occasional — familiar, but not everyday · #9,120 of 15,258neutral

Superhuman means beyond what an ordinary person could do. Superhuman strength, a superhuman effort, superhuman patience.

It is almost always an exaggeration and almost always about effort or endurance rather than any real ability. Stories of superhuman strength in emergencies are real in a limited way: fear does release strength normally held back.
