tinted

adjectiveB2+Occasional — familiar, but not everyday · #10,967 of 15,258neutral

Tinted means given a light wash of colour. Tinted glass, tinted moisturiser, lightly tinted.

The lightness is what makes it a tint rather than a colour — tinted glass still lets you see through and tinted moisturiser still shows the skin. In law, how dark a car's tinted windows may be is regulated. Note tint, from the Latin for dyed, the same root as tinge.
