Other forms: designers
A designer is somebody who decides how products, clothes or websites should look and work. A graphic designer, a fashion designer, work as a designer.
The field is named in front: graphic designer, interior designer, game designer, industrial designer. As an adjective, designer means made by a famous fashion house and priced accordingly: designer jeans, designer handbag — and it is often faintly mocking. Note designer baby, a contested term in genetics; and that a designer decides how something works as much as how it looks, which is the profession's standing complaint.
