obedient

UK/əˈbiːdɪənt/US/əˈbidiənt/
adjectiveB2Common in everyday speech and writing · #6,025 of 15,258leans spoken

Obedient means willing to do as you are told. An obedient child, an obedient dog, obedient to the law.

It has cooled as praise for children, where compliant and biddable now sound old-fashioned too, but it is still plain praise for a dog. Your obedient servant was the standard formal ending to a letter for centuries.
