photography

UK/fəˈtɒɡ.ɹə.fi/US/fəˈtɒɡ.ɹə.fi/
nounB1+Common in everyday speech and writing · #4,224 of 15,258leans written

Photography is the art of making pictures with a camera. Study photography, landscape photography, a photography course.

Exposure is the whole craft: aperture, shutter speed and sensitivity trade against each other and any two fix the third. It changed painting by taking over the job of accurate depiction and freeing painters to do something else. Note that the word means drawing with light.
